10 years have passed since Kiyokawa Plating Industry Co., Ltd. acquired the industry's first ISO14001. Through establishment of "nano plating technology" and "joining technology by lead-free solder (unleaded solder)", Kiyokawa Plating Industry Co., Ltd. takes approaches to the "environmentally-friendly plating process". Kiyokawa Plating Industry Co., Ltd. received "METI Special Prize of The 1st Monodzukuri Nippon Grand Award" in 2005, and was selected as one of "300 Monodzukuri SMEs Nationwide (METI)" in 2006.

Kiyokawa Plating Industry Co., Ltd. has established the nano plating technology utilizing the know-how accumulated throughout the history of the company. The plating process of a few dozen nm has become available with this technology. (A nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter.) The plating process plays an important role in joining semiconductors and electronic parts. Because the joining area is smaller than before, it is suitable for small semiconductors and electronic parts, greatly contributing to reduction in size and weight of mobile devices including cell phones.
The technology also leads to reduction of raw materials and energy saving. It is expected that the nano-level plating technology is widely applied in various fields such as medical, biology, and new material development fields in addition to electronic part field.
