Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd.

Ti-added high tin bronze for ITER that was developed using the epoch-making copper alloy melting technology

Features

Ti-added high tin bronze for Nb3Sn superconducting wire created from the epoch-making copper alloy melting technology with an 80% share of the international market

Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd has enabled the titanium addition of the activated metal by development of the epoch-making melting method under atmospheric conditions, cooling the whole crucible of the high-temperature molten bronze. The productivity has been drastically improved compared to the current vacuum melting and casting, with less segregation of tin and titanium, and with less micro and macro defects. By enabling the manufacture of bronze with higher tin concentration, the superconducting characteristics could have been doubled.

Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd has an 80% share of the international market in the field of the titanium -added high tin bronze for Nb3Sn superconducting wire. In recognition of the achievements, the materials of Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd are exclusively used in the huge project of ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) for the research of the reliability of the nuclear fusion energy.

Surpassing technology

Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd's phosphor copper alloy for deoxidation and phosphorus addition has a 30% share of the international market.

The phosphor copper alloy is generally used for copper pipes for coolers/ecological hot-water supply system, and deoxidation and phosphorus addition of the copper alloy cast, plate, strip, etc. Osaka Alloying Works,Co.,Ltd manufactures and sells the phosphor copper alloy. The production device and method substituting the raw material red phosphorus with yellow phosphorus have been developed and established. Thanks to the high productivity and stable quality, the domestic share is 100% and the share in the international market is approx. 30%.
